Hello all

This is Anol from Singapore. For last 6+ years I am consulting clients (Cisco Systems Inc, IDC Asia Pacific, HP, Singapore Management University etc.) on behalf of GetIT | Comms Singapore, in the field of New Media Marketing, User Experience Design, E-Learning, Blogs & Virtual Communities, Learning Design & Knowledge Management.

Hi All,

I will introduce me very briefly starting with my name. My name is Lodi and currently I am working in Sydney Australia as an IT-recuiter. Prior to this I have worked in Belgium for the Benelux region as an internal recruiter for Hewlett-Packard. Although I have never dealt with web 2.0 roles I am interested in using web 2.0 tools professionaly. Nevertheless that is not the main reason I subscribed myself to this online course as that will be pure interest! I hope this will give you all a brief summary of who I am and why I am joining. To answer the question what "type" I am, well I think I am in between the joiner and creator, but I do have some concerns about the working process of this course? How does it work? Do we receive material that we can study via email? Do we need to attend a special forum at a certain time? If this is the case I am doubtful if I can participate as I am literally on the other side of the world. Bring it on!

I am Matete Madiba. I want to have a beyond average exposure to web 2.0 tools, and explore how to use them to enhance teaching and learning in a university. I also want to support others as they explore and use the tools. One specific area to experiment with is how the tools can improve my management and leadership style. In the process, I should be able to understand what the tools can't do for me and what I can do to fill those gaps.

I'm a secondary school teacher-librarian in a large 2 campus school in Melbourne, Australia. I've just been promoted to a Leading Teacher role as College ICT Coach. This position requires me to work with staff to encourage and enable them to integrate information communication technology into their classrooms. Earlier this year I completed a "23 things" course and this has sent me on a fantastic learning journey, leading me to my new role and beyond...
I want to find ways to engage our teachers, some of whom are close to retirement and cynical about new things. I believe web 2.0 has something for everyone, that we all should be moving forward and that it is actually fun to do so. I want to infect others with the enthusiasm that I have been infected with ... so ideas and strategies will be gratefully received...
I'm hoping to be a creator; I'll certainly be a joiner, I doubt that I'll just spectate!

Hello,

I've worked in education for last 20 years but for the last few have not been teaching. I am currently news editor for Naace, who are an association for ICT advisors here in the UK. We are hoping to move from a traditional emailed newsletter to a blog that members can subscribe to...but even ICT organisations can be quite conservative! I am also working with schools and teachers supporting their provision for able children.

I'm not sure how active I'm going to be...just depends how fast the roller coaster runs over the next few weeks! One thing though...I've looked out my dormant LinkedIn profile (still unsure how to write a sensible profile...but will work on it) and invited some people to link...if nothing else happens that's something positive already!
